Managed to fix the database issue however messed up everything with my Valet installation. Tried to re-install as that usually works and voila<br />

If so how often? Installed the Continental GP4000S II the other day but used tubes from my 700x35 Kenda tyres. I was a bit worried since the tube seemed to big and was folded into itself when I tried to make them fit into the tyres. </span></div>

While replacing the tubes I also decided to remove the plastic disk on my rear wheel. They had a free shipping option but they said there's a risk that if postal inspects it then I'd get charged with brokerage fees, so I paid $13 for shipping. Last time I ordered some tyres from the US I got hit with a $20 import fee.</span><br />

Quest to find the perfect GPS cycling computer.So after parting ways with two of my road bike I have now saved enough to purchase a GPS cycling computer, which will hopefully provide better functionality than my Apple Watch 3. I wanted to get the bundle with the speed, cadence and HR sensor, hoping I could improve during the summer months when I ride a lot more.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEWMyAK7NQufkZU93tJEAdEFc2lArA8Nt0se1rNNfmLlRMOiQdNNZB4bcgCDLnWv7G4loWN2L5b9oi7SkvwsjOt1KgFW_jPY10rdxwBE5LDJtM3sJafliopQQkrsVyTaDeaylWCMPvQDx2/s1600/IMG_3568.HEIC" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEWMyAK7NQufkZU93tJEAdEFc2lArA8Nt0se1rNNfmLlRMOiQdNNZB4bcgCDLnWv7G4loWN2L5b9oi7SkvwsjOt1KgFW_jPY10rdxwBE5LDJtM3sJafliopQQkrsVyTaDeaylWCMPvQDx2/s320/IMG_3568.HEIC" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
My budget was around $500CAD and I had a choice of getting the Garmin 520 Plus bundle or the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt bundle. After several weeks of reading reviews and watching youtube videos by DCRainmaker, I had decided on really getting the Bolt.<br />
<br />
I also wanted to see both devices in person instead of just ordering online, so after a group ride with CycleWR my friend Arcy and I decided to drop by Ziggy's Cycle in downtown Kitchener.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYG6uxm4xn4pH8OAD9k9q6ObCc4lJLT1Po8nHaa5cfbcuqGPzE6HpK5cuVE9mZiNC_brCZXIljS_LWhZaZeHLYi4Y-Jwwj6_zogDwQ7ie5SJtru6bXPWqXfOqPsY2jX3G2UEezXfqBZ8Vc/s1600/IMG_3567.HEIC" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYG6uxm4xn4pH8OAD9k9q6ObCc4lJLT1Po8nHaa5cfbcuqGPzE6HpK5cuVE9mZiNC_brCZXIljS_LWhZaZeHLYi4Y-Jwwj6_zogDwQ7ie5SJtru6bXPWqXfOqPsY2jX3G2UEezXfqBZ8Vc/s320/IMG_3567.HEIC" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
They both felt great, the build on both devices was really impressive, well this is my first serious bike computer so I guess I may not be judging them properly. The screen size is the same, the Garmin had nice colours and really reminded me of my old car GPS. However what stood out in all the reviews about the Wahoo is that the ease in which it can be configured using your phone. I've owned a Garmin Fenix 3 HR and it was a pain having to push all those buttons every time I need to change something. The Garmin connect software was really meh and didn't even miss it after I was done with the Fenix.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyways, long story short, Ziggy's was selling them both tax free and I decided I'd pick the Wahoo, loving it so far! Used it on my trainer and had my first commute in the snow this morning, battery was at 80% after I had used it probably an hour.</div>

This year I had to say goodbye to two of my buddies, Raven and Ace, my weekend and commuter ride. Basically I came to a realization that I didn't need that many bikes, which my wife Ann agreed to with no hesitation, sold them off with a heavy heart.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
But then there's also the excitement of trying to find the new ride, something that would definitely be my size this time! Initially had my eyes set on getting a Kona Rove, however I have actually enjoyed riding the Fuji Ace so much that when I checked the mileage on both bikes I didn't even know that the Fuji had close to 6,000 kms while the Marin had only about 2000 kms.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So I searched Google for Fuji bike dealers near my area, there wasn't much, I was about to lose hope until I saw the website for Bikes On Wheels. It was in Toronto, it would be a hard sell to Ann that we drive all the way up there just to pickup a bike. However we had planned to take the kids to the zoo one weekend and that happens to be the same time they're having a sale on bikes! All the stars were lining up perfectly, purchased it online the weekend before our trip, and I was so restless waiting for the weekend to come.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Oh and the trip to the zoo got cancelled, however we still had fun when we took the kids to Fantasy Fair at the Woodvine Mall. But before that we dropped by Toronto and picked up my new bike, I was like a kid at a candy store. Also snagged a pair of full fenders for the rainy days, I didn't realize you had to pay for parking and my wife was telling me to get back ASAP, the lady at Bikes On Wheels as if to say "yeah this is Toronto you pay parking everywhere dummy!"</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So, I hauled it back to our van, got our of there as quickly as possible and enjoyed the rest of our day at Fantasy Fair. Can't wait for winter to be over so I can go on adventures with this amazing steed!</div>

Awhile back I wrote a web scraping app to monitor Kijiji for stuff that I'm interested in and I have in the past been lucky and found some really good stuff, my Fuji bike was one of those free bikes and even my winter commuter. So when I wanted to get a fat bike I added that keyword to the list of things for it to find and luckily it found one for a reasonable price, I've actually thought about buying this bike brand new online however I'll settle for something used for the price point I got it for.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkW6U84Oiy7y-SWQ9iYMf3A8xPm9G3Q35gk8yvUK61mkaxjxuDdUdN6xR733tIkV6hzkvs3fGyk-i9hFx6ISjAvUB6prApsYewpgRgwAb0b7avEjEwcQ-mQLzilYt0t1B7j0ZgduCKWoVa/s1600/IMG_0420.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkW6U84Oiy7y-SWQ9iYMf3A8xPm9G3Q35gk8yvUK61mkaxjxuDdUdN6xR733tIkV6hzkvs3fGyk-i9hFx6ISjAvUB6prApsYewpgRgwAb0b7avEjEwcQ-mQLzilYt0t1B7j0ZgduCKWoVa/s400/IMG_0420.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
I really don't know if fat biking is going to be something for me, the only real reason I wanted one is so that I no longer have to ride the bus when we get tons of snow. One of my friend rented a <a href="http://www.cannondale.com/International/bike/Productdetail?Id=011533c4-2e63-4a49-b51e-3b49dbb9200d" target="_blank">2017 Cannondale Fat CAAD3</a> bike and it was a joy to ride, the <a href="https://evobicycle.com/bike/2017/fat-mtb/big-ridge-7-0" target="_blank">EVO Big Ridge 7.0</a> however cost $850 brand new and weighs double the Cannondale. With the cheap components on this bike I'm not so sure if it will make it through 1-2 winter here in Canada as I plan to use it for commuting during heavy snow days, but only time will tell.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgNQdquuylb2irDn65NlV7Uoq3jWVk4yVd_n8EU9fTqlNc9_wow9IaAokIrepS6PiWk89GxXhhln2CN3La-9s9sMn9gl3Gf5328DdiUpNWYPlKwEd9IskPW2ohYbHLyrM0EBfMP-Re7Hba/s1600/IMG_0425.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjgNQdquuylb2irDn65NlV7Uoq3jWVk4yVd_n8EU9fTqlNc9_wow9IaAokIrepS6PiWk89GxXhhln2CN3La-9s9sMn9gl3Gf5328DdiUpNWYPlKwEd9IskPW2ohYbHLyrM0EBfMP-Re7Hba/s400/IMG_0425.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
On my first ride with it, I found that the disc brakes could have been better, upgrading it to hydraulics will definitely improve the ride experience. However with the 8 speed setup you really won't be going very fast on this bike, climbing up hills might also be a challenge during winter. I did test it on a climb (-3.6% grade) and had to switch all the way to the biggest cog to make it up, but this probably says more about my climbing ability than the bike. I also contacted the manufacturer to see if its possible to switch to a tubeless setup and no it is not. You'd need to get a new set of wheels, I believe it has clearance enough for a 4.8 inch tire.<br />

I was caught by surprise last week when winter gave us a preview of what's to come, my winter bike wasn't ready! I didn't have my studded tires install yet and had to commute that day and I had some sections where I can feel the tires losing traction, that didn't feel good. That tends to happen on areas where the bus have compacted that snow into ice almost.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Over the weekend I got my Schwalbe Marathon Winters installed, I'm really amazed at how well the tires were made, after several seasons they show little to no signs of wear. The studs looked rusty due to me storing them without drying them first. Also replaced the metal fenders and the 700c fenders that was on the rear. Someone on reddit suggest adding mud flaps to protect my chainrings and bb, I should have thought of that before, I had fenders on my main commuter before and always get mucky chainrings. I thought the fenders would be enough I never thought to add mud flaps.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Really looking forward to a safe and pleasant commute this winter ❄️⛄️</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br />
<br />
Update Nov 16: got the mud flaps on, made it from neoprene cabinet liners and duct tape... and it does work! Was raining a bit last night and there were puddles everywhere, so I made sure to ride over those puddles and my shoes remained dry! Well there were a bit of water on the side but I figure I have to make the bottom part of the flap a little bit wider, I'll make sure to do that for version 2.0<br />

<br />
For this year instead of installing my Schwalbe Marathon Winters on my previous commuter, I plan to use this single speed bike I got off Kijiji. I'm hoping that the gearing would be enough for winter and that not having derailleurs would mean not having to worry about them breaking. The bike also seems lighter compared to my usual winter bike as it doesn't have the suspension forks in the front, no cassette, 2 less chain rings and no derailleurs.<br />
<br />
I couldn't find any info about this bike online though, I'm guessing it must just be another BSO, only decals I could find where TUNDRA T-2000 Paul Mar cycle and Ishiwata CrMo.Herbert Balagtashttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11550529420293226730noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6422190749336904695.post-53812347920544345412017-09-02T07:24:00.001-04:002017-09-02T17:05:05.917-04:00New Bike Day: GT Avalanche 2014<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I waited several weeks for it to get marked down and finally riding season is almost over and finally got this one tax free! Original price at Sportchek was $719 down to $495, it's an older bike but the components are actually better than some of the newer bikes for half the price.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
My Merrell's served we quite well for several years, unfortunately the soles were worn out and things weren't looking too good at the heel area. Even though budget was tight my lovely wife felt it is time to retire those shoes and get a new pair, which I was hesitant to do as I have grown to love them and they have been through a lot with me. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Considering that I wore the Merrell's all year round, through ice, mud and snow, they didn't look all that bad, I felt they could still last a couple more months. However while browsing through Sportschek we came across this particular pair (20% off $127) and I felt comfortable wearing them right at the store, I also own a pair of Northface hiking boots and I could never feel comfy in them. The Salomon's fit like a glove, it felt light and the soles were flexible when walking yet sturdy enough when I pedal my bike.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Hoping they last as long as my old pair!</div>

Figured that even if I wear out the components I could easily go back to Recycle Cycles and replace the parts. Also got the fender mounting screws and bolts from them and even though my bike had no mounting eyelets on the fork I was able to attach the fenders.<br />
<br />
Also transferred the bar ends from the Horizon and it is quite nice specially when you're just cruising along. Switched tires to my Schwalbe Marathon Winters which I run at minimal psi when there's thick snow on the ground. I've been able to ride them at 35 psi on deep snow, higher than that and they just don't work as well.<br />
<br />
To combat rust I've been spraying the drive train components with Rustoleum and so far things look promising, hopefully I'll get more life out of my parts before they need to be replaced.<br />

Also replaced my derailleurs with used but hopefully better ones. Winter attire ready as well, snow helmet, balaclavas, really warm gloves, snow pants and snow shoes, and a ton of lights!<br />

Another Kijiji find, lacks a seatpost, saddle, front derailleur and shifter cables. Brake pads might also need to be replaced, definitely replacing the tires with the marathon winters when winter arrives. Fixing shifters not a priority but I might as well if I still have the time, will drop by Recycle Cycles today to grab some parts.</div>

Basically combining gaming and my now favorite activity... cycling! Never did use my bike phone mount often but after this game I have it attached on my commuter and use it pretty much daily to hunt pokemons and to visit pokestops.<br />
<br />
And I'm not the only one, each day I see kids, teens and adults ride their bike while looking at their phone. Although I would advise that they really get a phone mount to be on the safe side. My lunch rides have now been pokelunch rides, I would head over to the gazebos near the Lion's Lagoon splash pad at Waterloo park where it seems most pokemon players converge and setup lures.<br />
<br />
Even my wife who is normally limited to playing "candy crush" type games have been playing as well, I'm hoping for her health that she'll continue as it seems that this is a good way to convince her to ride her bike more. There are four stops in the park near our house and whenever she runs out of pokeballs we sometimes would take a stroll or she'd take her bike and hit all the stops.<br />
<br />
The game itself is a poor imitation of the actual pokemon games, I think the EXP system is broken, you basically get 100xp for each pokemon you catch regardless of how difficult or how high their CP is. The only action your pokemon ever gets is when you fight in a gym, however they don't gain any CP increase you only get a measly amount of EXP if you win some fights. Would also love to be able to trade pokemons from other trainers, the technology is there and I think this wouldn't be that difficult to implement.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
And then this happened!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIajdXPp4xOvRbP7q1Sh-J85urhkF6boPq7XO1VOeBGWuDTqDxGuY-Nbbd-3SJ8h0J2RpU4QNj7VV2UrMcnjHWL1qkGmWdV76GkUiDe2I9ZrZoM7bMyt1mzDw9BrJuFmKEVdQpteGP-7iF/s1600/IMG_7163.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIajdXPp4xOvRbP7q1Sh-J85urhkF6boPq7XO1VOeBGWuDTqDxGuY-Nbbd-3SJ8h0J2RpU4QNj7VV2UrMcnjHWL1qkGmWdV76GkUiDe2I9ZrZoM7bMyt1mzDw9BrJuFmKEVdQpteGP-7iF/s400/IMG_7163.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I was pretty crossed and was literally stomping and cursing at the intersection after I heard a loud pop and saw the air that gives shape to my tires escape and I was forced to walk home. What helped me get through this rough patch is when I vented my frustration through reddit, there were a lot of theories as to what happened. Someone did say that the way it was shipped (bundled tightly into a small package) might have caused the issue and that I should contact Schwalbe for a possible manufacturers warranty claim.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So went to their website, took photos and explained what happened, I was contacted by Mark Read who was very understanding and in the end was kind enough to approve a replacement. Well today after several weeks I got the replacement tire, this day couldn't have been any better! I emailed Mark again to thank him and mentioned that my 3 kids will sure be hearing about this when it's time for them to purchase bike tires, they will hear about the reliability and awesomeness of Schwalbe. It's rare to find a company nowadays that not only produces quality products but also stands by them.</div>

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Drove over to King St Cycles in downtown Waterloo, still a lot of construction going on but I was surprised at how busy they were. Applied this on my mountain bike and I'm amazed that when you rub your fingers to the chain that it is dry but when I tested the I don't get any mechanical noise so that means I guess that it is working, I'll have to see how much this holds up during a wet ride.<br />

So when the <a href="http://www.schwalbetires.com/bike_tires/road_tires/marathon_420" target="_blank">Schwalbe Marathon HS420</a> that I ordered from Amazon arrived I figured I could get both tires installed in an hour or so, boy I was wrong.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjIn5g1hyphenhyphensp4R5ncuO4o2OAZoo9ijv5e6xseZ6ClxktUeUJvXsVliuYgCq1E397X4w0cNioAyZ5C2JhcAvAOWo3YQe9qcrZ7-Ckr6F75qCkyFQfL_VCZ3_XozjyrNqgyRIbuh7du6oJLDv/s1600/IMG_7150.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjIn5g1hyphenhyphensp4R5ncuO4o2OAZoo9ijv5e6xseZ6ClxktUeUJvXsVliuYgCq1E397X4w0cNioAyZ5C2JhcAvAOWo3YQe9qcrZ7-Ckr6F75qCkyFQfL_VCZ3_XozjyrNqgyRIbuh7du6oJLDv/s400/IMG_7150.JPG" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tried to install the front one first that took most of my evening but I managed to get it installed and had a short ride, with rain looming in the horizon I decided to just install the rear one the next morning.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So this morning I got the back wheel off and attempted the task of getting the marathons on. Massaged the tire till I have a quarter ways to go and the headache started, no matter how hard I tried to massage the darn thing it wouldn't go I kept worrying about pinch flats and how I have to start over again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeBmwXN1w87MVcggRrtdKf_J91C_4Cc-z4VCticnS7XYPJZG2Ox4sckNxXNpc6BauJW2Pl4uSlz4RZs4p_8D1yBLiWplbmKYiJ5pW6oK0976OfMaO3W_tkvYIkqXsvuur3C0O1qsYFjAUb/s1600/IMG_7151.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeBmwXN1w87MVcggRrtdKf_J91C_4Cc-z4VCticnS7XYPJZG2Ox4sckNxXNpc6BauJW2Pl4uSlz4RZs4p_8D1yBLiWplbmKYiJ5pW6oK0976OfMaO3W_tkvYIkqXsvuur3C0O1qsYFjAUb/s400/IMG_7151.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tried using soap and lotion to try and loosen things up but still no dice. Went back to YouTube and found out I wasn't the only one having a hard time installing this particular set of tires. Saw someone else using zip ties, didn't have any of those around but I did remember I have a couple of bungee cords and thought that might work and to my amazement it did work! After wasting several hours of my morning that's all it needed, definitely gonna remember this trick. I think it actually worked better than the zip ties as I don't have to cut them off after I was done.<br />

It felt very aggressive and I really loved the style, the components on the bike were pretty nice as well. Hydraulic brakes, mostly Shimano components, better than the ones on the commuter bike I was hoping to purchase at Mec.<br />
<br />
This was a 2014 model had a bit of scratches here and there but that didn't take away from the awesome riding experience that it provided. I named him Bob and I'm hoping we could have a lot of adventures together and who knows maybe even visit the Hydrocut :)<br />

When I first got started into cycling I got a bike stand about the same price as this one but it sucked, it relied on huge rubber bands to keep the bike secured and eventually those broke rending the stand useless.<br />
<br />
So this is basically an early Christmas present according to my wife, really love that it had a magnetic tray so no more missing screws. There is also an adjustable holder for the handlebar so your wheel doesn't sway when you're working on it. I'm totally happy with this stand and could definitely recommend it to others on a budget like me looking of a reliable and stable bike stand.<br />
<br />
Here are some of the other features of this bike repair stand:<br />

I immediately asked the bike gurus at <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/bikewrench/comments/4de36f/hole_in_chainstay_nondrive_side/" target="_blank">/r/bikewrench</a> on what to do and to my dismay it turns out the frame can no longer be salvaged and must be discarded as it is unsafe to ride. I wouldn't really want to be riding that thing when the chain stay finally gives up and break!<br />
<br />
That was a major bummer, however all is not lost as I was able to salvage some pretty good parts from it.<br />

So on my way home from work I bought a can of Rust Check, seeing as there seems to be a lot of online post that says it works and also got some steel wool at Canadian Tire.</div>

Sprayed a decent amount of Rust Check on the corroded parts and left them there for a couple of hours, the finally used the fine wool to scrub off the rust. All I can say is that I'm pretty much satisfied with the results, I probably would need to clean the derailleur on the mtb once my new work stand gets here.</div>

Well even though it was snowing last Sunday we still managed to enjoy our weekend by going to the Kitchener ComicCon 2016 at the City Hall. My kids really enjoyed it and I'm thinking maybe getting passes for next year so they could get some loot bags and stuff. I think we saw 2-3 Deadpools and some really awesome cosplay, the lady dressed as a Pan was awesome, not sure how she did the hoofs but it was really great.<br />

Also visited Recycle Cycles again and worked with Fig to get my rear derailleur replaced, luckily they had a used Shimano Acera lying around, mine had so much lateral play that I think that it what's causing the chain not to shift to a higher gear. I learned how to clean the rear derailleur, disassembled and reassembled it back, this is probably going to be part of my routine cleanup from now on. In case that didn't work and I still had issues I also purchased a set of shifters and brake combo, hopefully I can get that installed next week.</div>

Here's a picture of winter being a total ass, had to basically walk all the way to work, surprisingly the multi-use path at Ring Rd was all clear of snow. For the short time that I was able to ride my bike I think the shifting is working a lot better now, thanks to the new derailleur. Also had to put back my winter tires but that still wasn't enough for the fury of winters revenge.</div>
